The thermoplastic elastomer combines the properties of vulcanised rubber with the easy workability of thermoplastics. Extrusion lines can be used to produce profiles with a wide range of geometries. They form an interesting and inexpensive alternative to EPDM and VMQ.
Important properties include:
- high elasticity, flexibility and firmness as well as good resilience
- excellent weather resistance, ozone and UV
- high heat resistance above 100° C
- very good low temperature flexibility down to -50° C
- good elastic and mechanical characteristics
- easy to dye
- excellent welding properties
- excellent longevity
- good resistance to water, acids and alkalis
- adapted for standards compliance (RAL, DIN, FDA)
- environmentally friendly and recyclable
- good paint and colour resistance
Applications:
- in the building sector for windows, doors, façades, conservatories, expansion joints
