The poesia group in Unterkulm is experiencing strong growth. To meet the increasing demand for space, the company began construction of an extension in July. The existing office building is being raised by three additional floors.
The poesia group is not just planning for the present but investing strategically in the future. Instead of adding only the space currently required, the company is doubling the expansion to ensure flexibility for future developments.
The current two floors – ground and first floor – will continue to be used by the poesia group. The new second and third floors will initially remain empty and can later be rented out to interested companies. The top floor will become the new management area, featuring modern offices and a balcony overlooking Unterkulm.
Sustainable timber construction
For the new levels, the poesia group is fully committed to sustainability. Timber construction elements from Zaugg AG Rohrbach are being used. This lightweight, eco-friendly building method offers short production times, excellent fire protection properties, and optimal use of space. Moreover, the wooden elements can be easily mounted on the existing roof – another key advantage for vertical extensions.
Local partners
In constructing the extension, poesia group relies on various regional companies: PAMO-Gerüste AG (Zetzwil) is responsible for the scaffolding, while A. Soltermann AG (Unterkulm) handles the masonry work. The windows are supplied by Jörg Bolliger AG, Carpentry / Window Construction (Gontenschwil).
Further regional experts are involved: Kobal Gebäudetechnik AG (Unterkulm) provides heating installation, Knörr AG (Teufenthal) is responsible for sanitary work, and Klimavent AG handles ventilation. Eniwa AG manages electrical work, while the interior finishing is carried out by W. Wälti AG Carpentry (Hallwil). The final painting will be done by Döbeli Malergeschäft AG (Unterkulm).
Architectural planning and project management are overseen by Fierz Rüfenacht Architekten AG (Schöftland), a highly experienced partner known for precision and attention to detail.
Precise schedule
Since construction began in July 2025, the staircase and light shaft have already been completed. The timber construction is scheduled for completion by week 51/2025, with window installation planned for weeks 3 and 4 of 2026. If progress continues as planned, the new floors will be ready for occupancy in May 2026.
A symbol of growth
By adding new levels, the poesia group is making a clear statement – meeting its needs for efficient, comfortable workspaces and ensuring long-term development potential at the Unterkulm site.
The poesia group employs around 60 people, including five apprentices. Operating in Unterkulm and Urdorf, the company manufactures and processes seals made from TPE, silicone, and LSR, as well as EPDM, NBR, CR, FKM, and foam rubber. Their products are used in construction, industry, engineering, transport, food processing, and healthcare sectors.
