All news from the poesia® group at a glance

For many years, poesia-gruppe, based in Unterkulm, has been investing successfully in the future by training apprentices. It offers various apprenticeship programmes and thus provides young people with a promising entry into professional life.

Timo Steiner, first year commercial employee EFZ apprentice, found his first weeks of apprenticeship very pleasant. By now, he is very familiar with various tasks. He appreciates the good exchange within the team, which leads to joint solutions. Thanks to good organisation between work, school, studying and hobbies, he has found a healthy balance to manage everything successfully.

He experiences the alternation between vocational school and the company as an ideal change. In the subject of economics, he has already learned school material that he can also apply directly in the company. During his apprenticeship, he wants to continuously improve and can imagine completing his entire professional career in the commercial field.
Quote Timo Steiner: “Do everything you do as if it were the last time.”

Ilire Mazrek, second year commercial employee EFZ apprentice, currently works in sales. She records customer orders for mk dichtungs ag in the ERP system and processes them. Another important task involves sample seals that are sent in by interested parties. She checks whether replacement seals are in stock and sends the appropriate samples to customers. Recently, she has also been assisting customers at the counter. Ilire values the variety of her work, as she can carry out different tasks during a single working day. She has learned many important aspects of customer interaction at school, particularly in the subject HKB D. She is motivated to learn something new every day and considers both vocational school and work in the company to be very practice oriented. Recently, this has helped her become more confident and independent, especially in customer communication.
Quote Ilire Mazrek: “Those who remain curious continue to grow.”

Robin Müller, third year commercial employee EFZ apprentice, currently works in accounting and also regularly supports the sales department of herzog dichtungen ag. He finds accounting tasks very interesting, as some of them are also relevant and useful in his private life. When advising industrial customers at herzog dichtungen ag, he can rely on specialised knowledge that he has already acquired. Professional exchange with colleagues and supervisors is particularly important to him in order to stay up to date, true to the motto “Together we are strong.” Unfortunately, he cannot always apply what he has learned at school in the company, as many school subjects focus too heavily on theory. At vocational school, he particularly enjoys everything related to IT and computers. For example, he has learned how to create Access databases. He is grateful to have an interesting apprenticeship position and can imagine continuing to work at poesia-gruppe after completing his apprenticeship, as an internal sales administrator at herzog dichtungen ag.
Quote Robin Müller: “The true value of work is not only shown in its profit, but also in the joy and pride it creates.”

Dominik Hofer, third year polymechanic EFZ apprentice, starts his working day by starting up all the machines. He then receives his tasks from his instructor and begins producing parts on the CNC machine. He finds his apprenticeship very diverse and exciting. This also includes machine maintenance, for example when a conveyor belt needs to be replaced. Since starting his apprenticeship, he has learned how CNC milling and turning of metal parts works, among other skills. In addition, there are tasks that require strong manual abilities. Although the theoretical school material sometimes overlaps with intercompany workshop training and practical work in the company, these are still different worlds in which Dominik Hofer operates. At school, he is particularly interested in materials science, manufacturing technology and general knowledge. Among his greatest achievements during his apprenticeship are two CNC parts he manufactured himself:a tool disc and a turned part for an injection moulding machine (pneumatics). The motivation to give his best every day enables him to contribute to society, with the apprentice salary also serving as a motivating factor. He describes his apprenticeship as diverse, demanding and exciting.
Quote Dominik Hofer: “The second life begins when you realise you only have one.”

Niklas Schmidt, second year plastics practitioner EBA apprentice, receives information about the day’s schedule from his supervisor each morning. He then sets up the machines and begins production. He appreciates the variety of his tasks and the exchange with the team. He is already very familiar with many tasks and enjoys carrying them out. Working independently alone at the machine is a challenge for him, as he has to remember all the steps that need to be completed. Since starting his apprenticeship, he has significantly improved his manual skills and his handling of specific tools, which benefits him both at work and in his free time. As school theory sometimes differs greatly from practice, he cannot always benefit from what he has learned at school while working in the company. His favourite school subjects are mathematics and general education. His initial idea of what the apprenticeship would be like has not changed much, but he has learned far more than he expected at the beginning. He is working towards completing his apprenticeship with motivation and can well imagine continuing to work at poesia-gruppe afterwards.
Quote: “You should stand by your own opinion and not allow yourself to be influenced by others.”

poesia-gruppe employs around 60 people, including five apprentices. It operates at its main location in Unterkulm as well as in Urdorf. The company manufactures and processes seals made of TPE, silicone and LSR as well as EPDM, NBR, CR, FKM and foam rubber for applications in construction, industry, technology, transport, the food industry and the healthcare sector.
